Audio file to help with abdominal sit ups?

Many years ago when I was at high school and we were doing a sit-up exercise in the gym, there was an audio tape/cd playing over the PA – all it said was…

“Up… Hold… Down… 1, Up… Hold… Down… 2, etc.”

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this audio file on cd or cassette?

I am apprehensive of doing my own tape as I do not know how long the sit up should be held for…

Also from memory I think the counter of sit ups went up to 100, I got to 100 a few times, but you felt it at the end…

If anybody could help – it would be appreciated!

Haha, I remember those tapes. Not sure where you could find one, aside from maybe asking at a local middleschool or highschool?

As for timing, when I do sit ups, I usually just pause long enough to take half a deep breath, that way I am exhaling on the going up and going down motion. Sit-ups are not a terribly aerobic excercise, so it’s realy the total amount of time you are actually moving the muscles that counts. When i was still in athletics, in the off season I would do 3 groups of 33 over the course of an hour. Obviously they would get continually slower as time went on.
