What are the benefits and risks of salt?
I NEVER put salt on anything. I figure that the food that I intake probably has enough sodium in it. I’ve heard before that American’s intake too much sodium during the day.
My mom always puts the salt shaker out during dinner time. :/…My family members will shake it in front of their food for probably 10 seconds!!! It annoys me to no end. I’ve brought the concern to my mom several times that putting to much salt on your food isn’t healthy, but I don’t have any proof or any facts to backup my concern.
Help? What does salt do to your body negatively and positively? Do we get enough salt in vegetables, fruits, sandwiches, pasta, cereal, ‘normal-every-day-food’ w/o adding it from a salt shaker?
Let me inform you that I eat healthy and only have fast food about once a month, if that often. I exercise regularly. I’m just concerned for my family’s sake.

it prevents any thyroid problems or any canerous sists form growing there (iodinized salt does at least so always get salt with iodine in it, because the idodine helps your thyriod and your thyriod controls metabolism. don’t wanna get hypo or hyper thyriodism now do we?
negative impacts? uhm i guess it could increase your blood pressure, but if you drink plenty of water it should be fine, besides, its not like your eating it straight, you’re just using it as a condiment
