Pet Exercise Wheel
do i have a good cage set up for my pet mice?
I got two female white mice as a Christmas gift yesterday and i have them in a 10 gal glass tank…they seem happy but i just wanted to show y’all the tank so someone that knows a bit more about mice then i do can tell me if it looks like it’s alright…thanks!

as you can see..i have a water bottle, food dish, an exercise wheel, plenty of clean bedding and a chew-log for then to sleep in and to chew on. (i also put some tissue paper rolls form them to play in.)

oh and during the pics, one of them (Pinky) is in the wheel and the other (the Brian) is sitting under the water bottle.
so, is it a good set up and do i have everything i need…any other help for starting off right would be great!! thanks!
The set up looks great. Another idea is to get a few toys and switch them around every week or two(leave their den/burrow/house) in there though, but they may like new toys to explore. I love to buy treats for my rodents and put them around the cage to allow them to forage for food(like they would naturally).
You may want to get them an actual den to sleep in(not a chew log). They sell little igloos that small rodents love to sleep in. My gerbils used the chew log only for chewing and would not sleep in it. They love the igloo and pull their bedding into it, making a den.
It looks like you have a great set up. It really fun to have small rodents.
