Guitar Exercises For Dummies
my self-improvement book collection?
I recently got a good look at my book collection. Well, I am a college student, so it’s more of the small number of books on one shelf in my apartment. I realized that they are all, more or less, self-improvement books that I rarely touch. When I say self-improvement, I mean things like: sudoku, exercises for your mind, play the guitar, and Japanese for dummies. I suppose I collected them on a whim when I wanted to try something new, but now I feel like they are just sitting there , silently judging me for not picking them up and making myself better at the subjects they contain. I tell myself I can’t get rid of them, it’s not like a fiction book I’ve already read. They are simply there, an opportunity to make myself a better human being. I was wondering if anyone had advice on my situation?

And the next time you’re in a bookstore and decide it’s a good idea to buy a French cookbook on a whim, tell yourself that you first need to learn to play the guitar and speak Japanese. Baby steps!
