How to Learn Guitar – Learn Guitar Using Online Guitar Courses

As you may know already there are many ways to learn the guitar, some include, private tuition, learning by ear, and learning from books and DVD’s. When choosing how you are going to learn, there are certain factors you may want to consider.

Which Method Should You Use to Learn?

You may have a musical ear, therefore you can hear what does, and what doesn’t, sound good and may try to teach yourself by ear.

You may learn better through reading, if you are this kind of learner then you might go for a guitar tutorial book.

If you prefer seeing what to play in front of you, and being able to hear instructions and maybe even read subtitles, you might buy a DVD on guitar lessons.

Or you may feel you need a private instructor/tutor, thus allowing you to interact with your tutor, and learn at your own pace.

What Should You Be Aware Of?

If you try to learn how to play the guitar by ear, you will only get so far, you will tend to learn to a basic level and without the proper knowledge of the foundations of learning guitar. You may continue using bad habits you have developed at an early stage.

Some books can fire you with lots of information therefore making things hard to understand. There are many aspects of guitar which are made clearer when hearing and seeing the lessons as opposed to just reading them. Also guitar tuition books can be very expensive, especially if you are having to buy them on many different sub-topics, for example one on chords, another on scales, songs books etc.

Guitar tutorial DVDs are very expensive and mostly contain a very limited amount of lesson time, therefore costing a lot more money if you’re having to buy DVD after DVD.

If you hire a private tutor, it could cost you anywhere between $20 – $40 for a half hour lesson, this is very costly and it can be very hard to find a tutor that’s right for you. Maybe you would want one who specializes in certain styles, it may also be difficult to travel depending on transport and travel distance.

What Is The Best Way To Learn The Guitar?

If you want to learn guitar to your full potential avoiding all of the disadvantages above then you should consider learning guitar online. There are many guitar courses available on the internet which provide clear and effective tuition through hours of video lessons which pinpoint specific areas of guitar tuition vital to your learning.

These areas include, learning chords, scales, bar chords, power chords, right hand techniques, left hand techniques, finger picking, keeping in time (rhythm), exercises, theory, learning songs and many more.

Learning guitars this way will allow you to take literally hundreds of lessons for nowhere near the price that you would be paying for a private teacher, and in the comfort of your own home. You can work on lessons at your own pace as many times as you like.
