Above Ground Swimming Pool

A swimming pool in your garden is much easier to install than you might expect. A new above ground pool is both affordable and simple to correct. Unlike inflatable pools that are often not very hygienic, while being prone to leaks, they are much stronger and have all the advantages of a permanent pool without the need for planning permission. They also cost a fraction of the price.

Obviously, your new above ground pool will come with instructions that you should follow, but following is a brief summary of the steps you must follow.

Exhibitor
Dry assemble the lower layer of the wood frame in situ, so you can see the problems of access and whether new ways need to strengthen services or entertaining.

Excavation
Even if the pool will be entirely above ground, you'll still need to remove the topsoil for the basis. Mark a rectangular area of at least 60cm taller than the pool and remove all topsoil (typically at least 15cm).

Concrete base
You will find it easier if you do it in two stages. First, put a 5cm (fine) blinding layer of concrete over the excavated area – this will give you a clean and level floor to work. Then put in a position to steel studs that provide the "coasts" of the pool. Forte Lay strengthen 5cm above the concrete mesh blinding and if the soil is poor, another layer of 5cm mesh of the upper surface the finished concrete. Pour in at least 15 cm and possibly up to 30cm of structural grade concrete vibrating premixed thoroughly to remove all air imprisoned.

Wooden superstructure
When the concrete has cured (approximately 2 days), begin to assemble the wooden frame by attention to follow the manufacturer's instructions for assembly.

Pipework – Phase 1
Mount the unit skimmer and pierced holes in the wall of timber framing for the leak, pump inlet and lights. Use coupon hole saw and be careful not to cut too oversized a hole.

Sub-Liner
Thoroughly sweep and vacuum the floor of the pool for any trash left behind is a potential hole in your shirt. When the soil is clean, spray it with adhesive and cut and adjust the sub-liner. This provides a cushioning effect for the floor and walls and also protects the coating of any major damage.

Pipework – Phase 2
Fit joints and calendar specific to the pump inlet, the drain and the lights cut through the sub-liner if necessary, to expose the holes. Be careful not to cut too.

Main Liner
Expose the liner in the sun for an hour to advance to heat up and become flexible. Starting with a corner of the frame, snap the surface of the pool wall gentle stretching and smoothing as you do. Leave the last 10 cm open inserting a tube with a powerful vacuum cleaner and seal. Suck as much air as you can go between the coating and the sub-liner. Anyone entering the pool from here should do in socks or barefoot.

Pipework – Phase 3
Fill the pool to a depth of approximately 15cm to stretch the liner into its final location. To exploit the vacuum for the last time, remove and seal the final part of the top line. Entering the pool and install the latest pieces of pump inlet, drain and lights, taking care to keep the power of that free water.

Electrical Work
You'll need an electrician to fit a circuit breaker for you and put in a power supply. It's a good idea if they also agree on a timer and a power parts (you may want to invest in an automatic pool cleaner). They can also wire in the lights – you may want to obtain an additional switch were mounted for the latter.

Pipework – Phase 4
Carefully assemble the filter pump and fill it with clean sand. Install all the flows in and out flow pipe from the pump, taking care to ensure that joints are watertight. Fill the pool halfway Unit the skimmer. Prime pump to operate the stopwatch and backwash pump set.

Determination of chemical
The use of a kit for analysis of pH and chlorine (available at any dealer pool accessories), add acid or alkali to your pool at pH 7.4 and typically a chlorine level of about 3 ppm. Add algaecide once a week to test and make up if necessary water, acidic or alkaline and chlorine at the same time. If you use solar cycles, you'll save water evaporation and chemicals and extending your swimming season.

Access
Fit measures and appropriate scales.

Maintenance
Down the Drain water to low and cover over the winter to run the pump at the opportunity to prevent stagnation of water. Treat the wood with teak oil annually to keep free from decay and looking good.

Now you are ready to enjoy your above ground pool.
