Biology Questions …?
I'm havin problems with some questions on my biology lab. Since I do not quite understand selective Fitness and the question on my lab is "In natural selection, there is some selective pressure, something that acts differently on different phenotypes, in this simple case by printed report. What was the selective pressure on this population? "Can someone please rephrase what my biology teacher is there? Thank you!
Say you have a few species of insects that are either brown or red. Browns tend to hide well, but the reds tend to be eaten by birds before they get a chance to lay their eggs. If the brown reproduce, then they pass on their genes for the brown to the next generation. Finally, the selection pressure of being eaten red bugs causing the species to drift to be completely brown.
