Cheerleading after spinal fusion?
I underwent spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis le first of June last year. Tryouts are expensive to come in about a month or two, and I was wondering if anyone has tips on how to prepare and Tryouts put my fitness and skills back to where they were before the surgery?
Hi Kasey, Be careful About your spine stressing too before he melted enough. As another person said, check with your doctor about the timing of when we can do things. I guess some of the most athletic moves will have to wait one year after surgery. Your surgeon may be able to make you work with a PT or maybe a coach who knows your limitations. As for exercises, you can always swim to get your endurance and strength back. At six months post-op, I guess you have been allowed to jog, so something to start immediately.
