customer service-wear hats?
I work at an athletic club. We work on a new dress code policy which will include business casual, swim instructors, fitness instructors, personal trainers, uniformed staff and reception maintenance, tennis instructors. If staff are able to wear hats indoors? Is this proper behavior when our main goal is make members feel welcome?
I am a little hesitation on this point. Yes, I suppose that staff could wear hats. But not just which hat of their choice. If you want to allow the club must provide the hats, perhaps with the company name or logo on them. One of the "pros" this idea is that it makes the club employees easier to find clients. Some people do not really wear a hat well, especially women, but few men as well. Many women have their hair style, and the hearing gives them a hat, and "hat hair. I once had a job where hats were necessary, and I do not like it. Part of the reason is the company bought the cheapest available hats – you know, the top hats foreheaded trucker style. Seriously – I look ridiculous in that thing LOL. I went around and spend my money on a more "Equipped" ceiling the same color, and my boss never really noticed. As long as you wear a hat, you were good. (It was in a large grocery store deli department). Girls do not wear hats, for them, they wore a visor in the same color – but they always hated even that. In fact, looking back, all the girls hated the visors (white). Anyway, what I'm saying is if you decide to go with hats and / or visors, something that looks nice, not 'cheap-o.
